‘The Revisionist’ news

A Jesse Eisenberg Theatrical Premiere

A play by the actor Jesse Eisenberg is one of five world premieres that will highlight the 2012-13 season for the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, the company announced. Mr. Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) was nominated for a Drama League Award this year for his previous Rattlestick production, “Asuncion,” which he wrote and starred in. His forthcoming drama, “The Revisionist,” focuses on a struggling writer who travels to Poland to stay with his 73-year-old second cousin, who is a Holocaust survivor. The play will be directed by Kip Fagan, with performances scheduled to begin on Feb. 6 at the Cherry Lane Theater.

The season will start on Sept. 13 with “Through the Yellow Hour,” a new play written and directed by Adam Rapp (“Red Light Winter”), about one woman’s attempt to survive apocalyptic events. That is to be followed by, among others, “The Correspondent,” written by Ken Urban (“The Private Lives of Eskimos”), and “Basilica,” written by Mando Alvarado (“The Yellow Brick Road”).
