Jesse Eisenberg set to star in Untitled Woody Allen Project

Exclusive: Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz and Alec Baldwin are set to star in Woody Allen’s untitled pic that will shoot in Rome this summer.

Allen is directing from his own original screenplay, though plot details remain under wraps.

Eisenberg is coming off his first Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in “The Social Network.” He has also committed to join Melissa Leo in the indie “Predisposed.”

Page recently starred in Christopher Nolan’s “Inception” and can currently be seen in James Gunn’s “Super.”

Baldwin is currently filming the indie “Hick” with Blake Lively, and he’s also set to join Tom Cruise in New Line’s “Rock of Ages.” Thesp previously starred in Allen’s 1990 comedy “Alice.”

Cruz has also worked with Allen, having won an Oscar for her turn in 2008′s “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” She next stars opposite Johnny Depp in Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival before opening wide on May 20.

Page is repped by WME, while ICM reps Eisenberg and Allen. CAA reps Baldwin and Cruz, who is also repped by Untitled.

A very very good news !
I’m looking forward to see what kind of role Woody Allen will give to Jesse, especially knowing the characters from the Woody Allen’s film.

Ellen Page…. yes. Penelope Cruz… yes.

It will be ok. (I’m now mumbling that to myself repeatedly)

Yes we can all celebrate now… It’s official! Can’t say I am a big Woody Allen fan (saw just a few of his movies) but I know Jesse is such a BIG FAN and working with his idol would definitely be a fantastic experience for him! Go Jesse!

yeah, it’s a sentiment most of us seem to be sharing… I wouldn’t say I’m an Allen fan either. (I don’t even like Vicky Cristina Barcelona overmuch, except the Penelope Cruz parts.)

Hope Allen will be in top form for this… it looks heartening so far. Penelope Cruz is here, out of the blue he casted Ellen Page, he’s going to make a cameo himself…. so hopefully this will be one of his better moments.

also I want to see Midnight in Paris when it comes out to get an idea of his most recent standard.
